After 2 years of getting to know, pursuing, inviting, and just about anything else one could think of…Hailey came to club....
Hailey caught Allison’s eye at the middle school one day during lunch; Allison was doing contact work. The two started a friendship and since Allison has been getting to know Hailey and hearing her life story. Despite the great friendship that Hailey and Allison had while at the school, Hailey was hesitant to take a “leap of faith” and hang out with Allison outside of school…
Just this last week, Allison invited Hailey to our Christmas club. Unfortunately, it was the same night that Hailey was having her birthday party…Fortunately, Hailey felt so loved and appreciated by Allison and the club sounded like so much fun, that Hailey couldn’t resist anymore. Moreover, Allison told Hailey that if she came to club she would have all 100+ people sing Happy Birthday to her! Hailey agreed and promised to wear her very favorite sparking blue dress.
45 minutes after club had started, right in the middle of a club game, Hailey showed up wearing her sparkling blue dress. She walked straight to the front of the club room and gave Allison a big hug.
As promised the whole club sang happy birthday.
After the club talk, Hailey took another leader for a one-on-one. She shared about her family, her medical condition, and how she was glad to be at club even though she could have had a birthday party.
