Young Life's Trail West Camp

Last week I (Jeff) participated in Young Life's annual development department retreat.  It was a fantastic time to meet with Young Life staff from all over the country who serve in the ministry of stewardship.  The retreat was held at Young Life's Trail West camp in Buena Vista, CO.

The central focus of the retreat was generosity.  The entire team was led through a 24 hour exercise in growing our own perspective and passion for generosity.  The context of the exercise was provided by an organization called Generous Giving.  Generous Giving seeks to encourage givers to experience the joy of giving and embrace a lifestyle of generosity, according to God's Word and Christ example.  Additionally, we pulled from a book titled, Revolution in Generosity.

It was a gift to be able to prayerfully consider how God is moving our family and our ministry to become more and more generous.  We are taking steps to actively practice more generosity in our lives.

We hope and pray that as a result of people's partnership with the Hall Family Ministries every financial supporter would experience the joy, freedom and peace that comes with living generous lives.

"You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich" - 2 Cor. 8:9
