One of the great ministry opportunities that Guys, Grub, and Gospel has is partnering with Young Life in their "Outdoor Program" at Washington Family Ranch. The Outdoor Program at WFR is one of the many ways that Young Life uses the property it has been given to bless others. One specific aspect of the Outdoor Program is hosting big game hunts on the property. Deer hunt #2 was one such event and it was a wonderful week for the Triple G.
Jeff invited several men he is in relationship with to come to WFR and help host the hunt. The primary role for Jeff and the other men was to cook, clean, and "set the table" for the hunters (both literally and figuratively). This accomplishes two purposes:
- Guys, Grub, and Gospel uses these opportunities to reach out to men and help enrich the most important relationships in their lives. Deer #2 focused on these men's relationship with Wisdom, as personified in the Proverbs. Additionally, we used the hunt to teach men to cook, to enjoy one another's company, and to experience adventure on the massive property.
- Guys, Grub, and Gospel comes along side Young Life to help facilitate the growing and building of ministry partners for the YL mission. The hunts are an integral part of drawing people into the work that God in doing in and through the mission of Young Life.
The week was full of great time with men, great service for God's kingdom, and great food that reflects God's goodness and generosity
